How to dress yourself according to your body type

Though the world is an oyster for you when it comes to clothing, it would make a world of a difference when you know what clothes compliment your body shape. Read below to get a step closer to knowing your body type and dressing accordingly.

1. Hourglass

Your shoulders are as wide as your hips and you have a well-defined waist. Wear attires that accentuate your slim waist and highlight your curves. Go for waist details to flaunt that perfect waistline. Wear wraparound dresses or peplum tops or wear belted high waist trousers making your hourglass figure even more mesmerizing.

Stick to V or boat neckline to make your bust the spotlight. Skinny jeans or leggings are your perfect bottom wear. Coming to dresses, head towards fit and flare or to stand out, bodycon dresses are just your thing! All you need to keep in mind is to buy body-hugging clothes showing off your lovely lady shape.

2. Apple

Though well proportioned, you are heavy around the bust and midsection. You need to drift the attention away from your midriff and focus it on other parts of your body. Wear anything that drifts the attention from your bust to your hips, for instance, tunics or V neck blouses or even buttoned up shirts. To look your fab, wear jackets whose hem hits your hip or upper thigh and you can pull off any jacket or coat.

Choose flared pants or skinny pants to help balance out wide shoulders. Wear bottoms just below your hipbone to draw attention away from your midriff. Stay away from dresses that highlight your waistline as it would be the last part you would want to flaunt. You have much to play around except for waistline embracing clothes.

3. Pear

With wider hips, your waist is wider than your bust representing a slender upper body. You should dress in a way to make your butt look slimmer and wear something that adds weight to your shoulders. Straight fit or flared pants are your way to go. You can play with dramatic sleeves to enhance your upper body. A-line styles work best for you, be it a skirt or a jacket.

Sports outerwear whose hemline ends around your mid-thigh will make your thighs and hips look slender. Only keep in mind to even put your body proportions keeping weight age on the upper section of your body.

4. Rectangle

Your hip, waist, and shoulder have the same measurement. Lack of curves in your body really makes it important for you to exaggerate the ones you have. High neck tops or crew neck would really suit you. If you wish to brag your muscular arms you can go strapless. Opt for ruffles, collars, and frills to add volume to your figure. For instance, a lot of ornamentation at the bust will give the illusion of a bigger bust.

Flowy outerwear would make your look more flattering. Avoid baggy clothes in your wardrobe as they won’t add the feminist you need. Wear skinny jeans/tights is what you can look for in bottom wear.
